Research Talks

Research Talks will feature 15-minute presentations highlighting faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research staff engaged in data or computationally intensive research. Showcased research will include data science methods, computational work, and data workflows. 

Eligibility

Current Northwestern faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research staff are invited to participate. Research and scholarship from all fields are welcome.  Presenters are encouraged to highlight the computational and/or data-intensive component of their research. 

Process and Selection Criteria

Abstracts are limited to 300 words and should describe the research to be presented, findings, impact, and its computational or data-related components.

Accepted submissions will be responsible for presenting a 15-minute talk at CoDEx.  Coaching/feedback sessions will be held in the weeks leading up to CoDEx. You must be available to present in person at Norris in Evanston on April 21, 2026, to participate. 

Presenter Instructions

The accepted submissions must present their research to the general academic audience attending CoDEx, with an overview or detailed description of the computational or data-related work. Slide templates are available for your use. Download slide templates.
