Presentation Types
CoDEx explores various topics relevant to research computing and data. We hope you will consider attending one or more of the presentation types listed on this page
Research Talks
These 20-minute research talks highlight Northwestern faculty, students, and staff engaged in data or computationally intensive research. Northwestern faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research staff are invited to participate.
Student Competitions
- Lightning Talks: These fast-paced and highly focused 5-minute talks are designed to showcase interesting projects, spark discussion, and ignite collaborations across diverse research fields. This format is an excellent opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to practice presentation and communication skills, as speakers focus on key messages with clarity and precision rather than providing the detail and depth required in a more traditional presentation.
- Visualization Challenge: The Visualization Challenge offers graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students an opportunity to showcase their data visualizations to the broader Northwestern community.
- Poster Competition: The Poster Competition allows graduate and undergraduate students to present their research to Northwestern faculty, students, and postdocs. All areas of research are welcome.
